When justifying her now-famous comment made in 2014, in which she advised her daughter Gigi Hadid to eat a few almonds, Yolanda Hadid invoked the time-honored defense known as “taken out of context.”
In a recent interview published on Thursday by People, Hadid answered the contentious comment. She said that when she made it on Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, she was only half awake because she had recently undergone surgery to remove her breast implants.
Hadid, 58 years old, stated that Gigi called her to tell her she wasn’t feeling well and that she heard Hadid say, “Have two almonds” while she was still half asleep.
I am trying to remember why there were two of them or what. There was no coherence or logic to it at all. This is such a ridiculous story that is being told, and it has absolutely nothing to do with how we live our lives.
While the Bravolebrity was talking to Gigi on the phone, Gigi gave her some advice, telling her to consume a few nuts and chew on them thoroughly.
She told People that she has a bag of almonds or another type of nut in her purse at all times so that she may grab a handful of nuts and consume them if her blood sugar level lowers unexpectedly. So that is one area in which it excels. But that’s not why I eat it; I’m not on a restricted diet. I don’t believe in diets anyway.
During her four years of participation in the popular Bravo series, Hadid was criticized for making several comments regarding her daughters’ public personas on multiple occasions.
She had earlier assured Gigi that she could “enjoy one night of being naughty,” referring to the evening of the birthday celebration. And after that, you need to get back on track with your diet.
She informed Gigi at another moment that it is difficult to abstain from eating any sugar and that it is challenging to be forced to eat a salad every day.
