A fan, known only as Rebecca, described him as “desperate” for recognition, claiming he introduced himself to a line of guests waiting for an elevator, shouting: “I’m Liam,” but they seemed unimpressed.
According to Rebecca, Liam returned to the lobby with his laptop and began using the “accessibility setting” that read out his emails aloud, seemingly for attention.
She speculated that he saw an email that upset him, as he suddenly shouted, “f— this s— mate!” and started smashing his laptop on the floor. His erratic behavior shocked those present in the upscale hotel.
Concerned, Rebecca asked if he was alright, to which he grunted and then admitted: “I used to be in a boyband. That’s why I’m so f***ed up.” Stunned by his confession, she watched as he reentered the elevator. Shortly after, a “British guy” apologized to the group on Liam’s behalf, explaining that he sometimes “gets so high”.
Rebecca noted that he seemed to be under the influence and was acting aggressively, although he was not lashing out at anyone in particular. Authorities have now revealed that the singer reportedly “jumped from the balcony” of his hotel room, leading to his tragic and fatal fall.
In an alarming twist to the earlier narrative, police officials confirmed to The Associated Press that the 31-year-old celebrity “had jumped from the balcony of his room,” clearing up any previous uncertainty about the nature of the incident.
