According to Reuters on September 6, US President Donald Trump announced that the 2026 G20 Summit will be held in Miami, Florida.
He said the specific location is the Doral golf resort he owns, praising it as “beautiful, convenient because it is close to the airport and is the best choice”.
In the same statement, Mr. Trump confirmed that he will not attend the G20 Summit in South Africa later this year, but will send Vice President JD Vance to attend on his behalf. Mr. Trump emphasized that bringing the G20 to Miami demonstrates the position of the United States, and expressed his wish that Russian leader Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will attend the 2026 summit.
