A Florida mother claims she spent an entire Walt Disney World ride trying to revive her son after he reportedly passed out just 20 seconds in. The frightening incident occurred last month when Christine Tagle and her family visited the amusement park.
Tagle revealed that her panic began when she and her 5-year-old son had boarded their “favorite” Guardians of the Galaxy ride. “About 20 seconds in I noticed my 5-year-old son passed out, through the whole ride I couldn’t get him to wake up,” Tagle wrote in a Facebook group dedicated tips and tricks to navigating the park.
“When the ride was over I pulled him out screaming for help, the staff directed me to a hallway where I laid my son down and I began CPR a few seconds later the staff shocked him with the AED.” the post continued adding that during the attempts, her husband went looking for additional help and luckily found a couple who worked as a nurse and a EMT. After taking over from the distraught mother, the couple managed to keep the young child, who started having seizures, stable until an actual EMT unit arrived

Disney did not immediately return The Mirror US’s request for comment. First responders managed to take over from the couple and rush the child to the hospital where several tests confirmed that the boy had a genetic heart condition — catecholaminergic polymorphic ventricular tachycardia (CPVT) — that flared up during the ride.
“My Son is alive, my son lived because when his (now we know) genetic heart disease presented itself we were at Disney where there is an AED everywhere,” the post said. “My son is alive because we were at Disney with trained staff. My son is alive because of this couple. My son is alive because I was trained in CPR.”

Tagle urged everyone viewing the post to train in the life-saving technique. The relieved mother also asked the couple who helped without a moment of hesitation to come forward so she could thank them. Tangle also said that she working with Disney to get the name of the staff member who helped her. “Disney always had my heart, but now they own it , they have my thanks, and I am in debt to them forever and ever,” she wrote.
In an update to the post, Tagle revealed that Disney was able to locate the couple and cast member who helped them and they have been in communication since. “We are overwhelmed by the love and support from our Disney community. Our plans are to go and visit these amazing people and give them hugs and love and say our thanks face to face.”
