In a high-octane showdown under the thin air of Coors Field on June 24, 2025, the Los Angeles Dodgers stormed back from an early deficit to outlast the Colorado Rockies 9–7 in a rollercoaster thriller that had fans on the edge of their seats until the final pitch. Shohei Ohtani launched his National League-leading 27th home run, and Michael Conforto hammered a three-run bomb to fuel the Dodgers’ explosive six-run fourth inning.

The Rockies struck first, plating two early runs off Dodgers opener Jack Dreyer via back-to-back RBI doubles from Michael Toglia in the first and third innings. But the fourth belonged to L.A.

After struggling to string hits together early, the Dodgers erupted against Rockies starter Germán Márquez, who was returning from an ankle tweak. Michael Conforto crushed a three-run homer deep to right, tying the game and igniting the visiting dugout. Then came Mookie Betts with a clutch two-out RBI double to push the Dodgers ahead 4–2. Shohei Ohtani later added to the fireworks in the sixth with a towering solo homer—his 27th of the season—stretching L.A.’s lead to 8–3 and further cementing his case for a second consecutive MVP nod.

While the Dodgers’ offense stole headlines, rookie Justin Wrobleski quietly turned in a career-best performance on the mound. Entering after Dreyer’s short start, Wrobleski worked five impressive innings, striking out seven while allowing just two runs. The 23-year-old southpaw picked up the win and helped stabilize a bullpen that had been heavily used in recent outings.

Manager Dave Roberts praised the rookie’s poise: “Wrobleski gave us exactly what we needed. He kept us in the game and let the bats take over.”

The two clubs combined for 28 hits—14 apiece—and only one error-free defense: the Dodgers, who stayed clean. Márquez, meanwhile, was tagged with the loss after giving up six runs over four innings in his rocky return from injury.

With the victory, the Dodgers improved to 49–31, holding firm atop the NL West, while the struggling Rockies dropped to a dismal 18–61.
