Trapped in the hole of a dumpster, Boggle was lucky to be spotted by a group of workers who did everything to save him.

Boggle was a stray cat looking for something to eat when something tragic happened. Thinking it would find food in a dumpster, the feline snuck inside. But he overestimated the size of a hole he tried to enter, and his head got completely stuck in it. The space was barely the width of a drink can.

Workers passing by spotted the cat

The dumpster was located on the site of a gas plant in Crossfield , Canada . The workers working there luckily spotted the small, orange, desperate head protruding from the dumpster. The hole the cat had slipped into was theoretically used to pass the metal lifting pins through, in order to lift the dumpster.

The workers first tried the gentle method

The first technique that the 3 workers tried was to slide the cat’s head off using dishwashing liquid and then olive oil. But none of these gentle methods worked.

They then tried to use a cutting torch to cut through the metal plate around the cat’s head. But, despite the rags they used to protect the animal, its fur began to burn.

The cat struggled fiercely

The cat started to get really scared of the workers and started to struggle fiercely. He bit and scratched violently. “ He never gave up, he fought us all the time, we had gloves on, but he would scratch and bite us ,” one of the workers told Alberta Prime Times .

After the cutting torch failed, the men used a metal grinder. They managed to cut off part of the metal plate, giving them easier access to Boggle ‘s face . The workers then used a sheet of metal to press on the cat’s head and push it out of the hole.

Boggle was slightly traumatized, but is doing very well in foster care

The cat came out of the dumpster safe and sound, but with some burns and small injuries.

“ We tried to be as gentle as possible, but you can’t get stuck like that and come out without a scratch ,” said one of the rescuers.

The cat was slightly traumatized by this mishap and by its rescue. He, who was already wandering and therefore unaccustomed to humans, became even more fearful. But after spending a month in a patient and loving foster family, Boggle has regained his confidence in humans and is now ready to be adopted.
