Should pet professionals be trained in pet first aid?

Take part to this month’s Great Debate: should everyone working with pets be required pet first aid qualifications?

The is calling for all of UK’s pet professionals – such as dog walkers, groomers and pet sitters – to be required pet first aid qualifications through mandatory courses. Such courses are inexpensive, they argue, and the trainig they provide could save pets’ lives.

Others are not so keen on the idea, saying that not everyone has quick and easy access to such courses and that it should be up to the pet owner to enquire about any pet first aid qualifications before deciding whether or not to entrust their pet to a professional.

What do you think – should everyone working with pets be required to hold pet first aid qualifications?
